In addition to this latest appointment, Roy is also a Macomb County representative on the Board of Directors of the Regional Transit Authority of Southeast Michigan (RTA), and he serves on the RTA Planning and Service Coordination Committee, RTA Funding Allocation Committee, RTA Executive and Policy Committee, the Baker College System, where he chairs their Clinton Township/Port Huron Board of Regents, Macomb Community College Civil Tech Advisory Committee, and Henry Ford Macomb Hospital Ambassador Club.
He has also served as President of Leadership Macomb and Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence, and as Vice Chair of Businesses for Better Transportation. He received the Sterling Heights Regional Chamber’s Lil Adams “Citizen of the Year” award in 2013, and was inducted into the “Macomb Hall of Fame” in 2015.
He has recently received a Special Tribute from the Michigan House and Gov. Snyder congratulating him for being awarded the “Franklin D. Meyers 2016 Outstanding Civil Engineer of the Year Award” by the Michigan Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Roy has justifiably earned recognition and numerous awards for his service and volunteerism while at the same time serving AEW as President and CEO. In addition to the above mentioned award, he was inducted into the “Macomb Hall of Fame” in 2015, and earned the Lil Adams “Citizen of the Year” in 2013.
Roy received an Associate degree in Science from St. Clair County Community College, and his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
