The City of Center Line is 1.74 square miles in size, has 33 miles of water mains, 30 miles of sanitary sewers, and 30 miles of storm sewers. They began working with our GIS team in 1998 to first create a GIS that began with a Parcel Base layer. As finances were available, additional layers were added, including water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and sewer leads. The project also included manhole smoke testing with video and photos, along with sewer rehabilitation. Our GIS work with the City of Center Line is ongoing. Most recently, a sign inventory layer was added, with all sign codes conforming to Michigan’s Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) traffic codes.
