The overall project scope included demolition of the Oakland County International Airport terminal building and replacing it with a 15,000 square foot LEED accredited structure. AEW provided the design and drafting of the site civil improvements, which included demolition and reconstruction of the parking areas, utility configuration for the site, and building, site surveying, soil erosion control, and stormwater coordination. By implementing a round-about, with reduced parking areas, traffic flow significantly improved at the terminal entrance for the more than 500,000 passengers who pass through the airport annually.
