Richmond Lenox EMS Building

RLEMS is a municipally-owned Ambulance Authority, and their shared services have been providing E.M.S. to northern Macomb County since 1975. Richmond and Lenox Townships are the joint owners of the authority, and they are also contracted to serve several other neighboring municipalities.

This project involved the construction of a new 16,500 square foot building that houses a fleet of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) vehicles in the City of Richmond. The facility was built on the site of the former RLEMS location which was demolished as part of the project. The new headquarters houses four to six ambulances, operations and administrative staff, and the SMART Community Transit Fleet of eight small buses.

PROJECT CHALLENGES
This project presented challenges due to the fact that the facility serves multiple communities with different needs.

OUR SOLUTIONS
The AEW team worked with the communities to gather necessary information that would aide in the design of the building.
