AEW teamed up with parking structure specialists Rich & Associates Inc., to deliver design plans for a new 7-story, 520 parking space parking structure in Downtown Royal Oak, MI. The new structure will replace the open parking lot at 2nd Street and Center Street. The project also consists of repairs on 2nd Street between Washington Avenue and Center Street, along with streetscape improvements within the area. AEW was responsible for all the site infrastructure design including the streetscape improvements. Located in a downtown area, the project presents logistical constructibility challenges to ensure minimal impact to surrounding traffic patterns, and most importantly to ensure limited impact to the residents and businesses of Royal Oak.
