In 2006/2007, AEW was instrumental in successfully securing $9.7 million in S2 Grant Funding for several client communities. These cities included Clawson, Grosse Pointe, Harper Woods, and Roseville. These grants covered 90% of the costs associated with investigating the condition of community sanitary sewer systems, along with the design of repairs and project plan preparation under the State Revolving Fund loan program. The SRF project was divided into three separate contracts and AEW managed all three simultaneously. Construction services included coordinating the work so that each specialty contractor could work on a section of sewer without disrupting the work of other contractors. Additionally, as part of our contract administration services, AEW verified compliance with the wage and material requirements of the SRF and the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Work was completed on this huge multiple-phase project in 2016.
Planning and Engineering activities for these projects included:
Sewer Pipe Cleaning and Televising
Manhole Inspections
Manhole Locations via GPS Coordinates
GIS Mapping with Data Integration
Inflow/Infiltration Evaluation and Documentation
Corrective Action Plan and Budget
Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey Report
Design Plans and Specifications
Construction Observation and Administration
Work performed included:
Full length cured-in-place pipe
Sectional cured-in-place pipe liners
Open-cut excavations, rear and front yard
Pipe burst of existing sewers
