Macomb County Sheriff’s Marine Patrol Boathouse

AEW supported the complete demolition and reconstruction of the Macomb County Sheriff’s Marine Division Boathouse. The new 12,516-square-foot facility includes five boat wells, a garage with an ICC500 storm shelter, and an administrative wing with offices, locker rooms, kitchen, and support spaces. Site work involved installing a new seawall, raising site elevations, relocating docks, and replacing a fueling station with a new dual-containment system. AEW provided surveying, construction layout, civil and structural engineering, and architectural support. Challenges included maintaining access to the adjacent DNR fisheries and launch site and working around a load-restricted, one-lane bridge. Through careful coordination, AEW ensured uninterrupted operations and safe site access. The result is a modern, functional marine facility that enhances public safety on Lake St. Clair.
