What made you decide to join AEW?

Ed Neiman, my predecessor/mentor

Do you remember how you felt when you started at AEW?

Welcomed, and a little overwhelmed

What were your career goals then compared to now?

I just recall thinking how great it would be to be licensed.

What advice would you give to college students focusing on Civil / Architecture / Survey?

Communication is key, communicate with your team members, clients, and contractors. Zoom, texts, and email are great and you must use them. But face to face communication is so important. Even though it takes more effort it’s well worth it, that’s how you build relationships and ultimately trust with clients.

What do you consider the biggest accomplishment of your career to date?

Helping build the architecture department into what it is today. I hope that I have helped create an environment that is positive, creative, and hard working.

I love this company, the people, what we do for our clients and the communities that we work in. I just hope that I can play a small role in handing the company over to the next generation even stronger. This is such a tall order, because our founders and past leaders have left such large shoes to fill.
