I started at AEW because it was close to home. I can now say I continue to enjoy working at AEW for the variety of projects we work on that I see in my day to day life.
Starting an internship in your future career is very nerve racking.
My career goals when starting as an intern was to grow my experience, throughout earning my bachelors and master’s degree. My ultimate end goal at the time and still is to be a licensed architect. Since the beginning of my internship, I have earned all my hours needed to begin taking my six license exams. I have currently passed my first exam and will continue to take the exams throughout the next year.
The advice I would offer to college student whether they are starting or ending their college experience, is to take every opportunity you can. An opportunity that may not relate to what your end goal is, may surprise you on what you learn and what will help you in the future.
My biggest accomplishment so far was not only completing my education and earning my masters, but continuing to grow and gain knowledge. I think back to where I started as an intern, I have gained much confidence in my work and look forward to growing.
