Responsibilities
As a member of our Structural Engineering team, the Bridge Engineer would provide bridge and culvert design services for our municipal and private clients, as well as federally funded design projects. Secondary responsibilities include assisting in bridge inspections, scoping and preparation of funding and grant applications.
Education/Experience
- BS in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Understanding of AASHTO and MDOT design standards
- Proficient in AASHTOWare BrD/BrR, MERL, and other MDOT design software
- Progressing towards licensure, or possessing a PE license in Michigan
- Strong understanding of bridge structures, bridge component design, modeling and preparation of construction document including cost estimates and quantity calculations.
- AutoCAD or Microstation experience preferred
- Certified as QTL bridge inspector would be ideal
- Bridge construction engineering experience
